SAN MARCOS, Calif. Charlotte Kuzminsky of the women's track & field team and Blake Nash of the men's basketball team have been named the Cal State San Marcos Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Month for March 2015, respectively.The CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Month awards are determined through a vote of all athletics department coaches, administrators and staff. Each in-season program nominates a student-athlete to be considered for the award each month.Kuzminsky, a junior from San Diego, earned three NAIA All-America awards at the Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Mar. 5-7, in Geneva, Ohio. Kuzminsky finished third overall with a school-record time of 2:53.9 in the 1000m, in addition to helping the 4x800m relay and distance medley relay teams to All-America honors and school records.She took home A.I.I. Athlete of the Week on March 8. Following her impressive indoor track season, she has already qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in the 1500m and 800m. Nash, a senior point guard from Phoenix, Ariz., averaged 18.8 points, 4.8 assists and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 44-percent from the floor during March. He led the Cougars to their second-consecutive A.I.I. Conference Championship and was named the A.I.I. Player of the Year, A.I.I. Tournament Most Outstanding Player and All-A.I.I. First Team.He also helped the Cougars advance to the NAIA Quarterfinals for the second year in a row and was honored as the program's second-ever NAIA First Team All-American.
