Cougars Finish Strong on Day Two of Bryan Clay InvitePublished by
AZUSA, Calif. Competing against many of the top NCAA Division I programs in the nation, the Cal State San Marcos men's and women's track & field teams posted strong marks on the second day of the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday. Elizabeth Buckle qualified for a second California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships event, running a personal-best 4:52.40 in the women's 1500m. Buckle previously qualified in the 800m. The women's 4x100m relay of Jolene Widmer, Kamarria Rehn, Lauren Wyckoff and Jasmine Williams set a season-best 48.83 to place 14th overall. The men's 4x400m relay of Fereon Meferia, Justin Washington, Matt Doyle and Aaron Hickman also ran a season-best, posting a 3:20.20 to finish seventh overall. Washington improved his California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championship qualifying time in the men's 800m, running a season-best 1:52.85. The mark is .52 seconds shy of the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. Charlotte Kuzminsky also finished just shy of a Division II provisional qualifier, running 2:13.88 in the women's 800m and missing the time by .55 seconds. For more, visit CSUSMCougars.com.
