Frederik Jahr Dubbed Capital One Academic All-DistrictPublished by
SAN MARCOS, Calif. Frederik Jahr of the Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Friday.To be considered for Academic All-District recognition, a student-athlete must excel in competition while maintaining a minimum 3.30 grade point average and must have achieved at least sophomore academic standing. Jahr is now eligible to win Capital one Academic All-America , which will be released on June 22.Jahr, a sophomore from Snaroeya, Norway, boasts a 4.0 GPA in Business Management. He recently was presented with the CSUSM Mangrum Award for academic excellence, which recognizes CSUSM student-athletes who achieve 4.0 GPAs during a given academic semester.Jahr is currently in Gulf Shores, Ala., where he will compete in the high jump at the NAIA National Championship today at 4 p.m. PT.He qualified with a "B" standard jump of 2.03m at CSUSM's home Mangrum Invitational on April 11. It was his personal best and he was the top collegiate finisher.He also jumped a personal-best 6.85m in the long jump at the Mangrum Invite, placing third.He won the high jump with a jump of 2.00m at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Collegiate Scoring Meet on March 21.Jahr is the second CSUSM men's track & field student-athlete of record to be named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team.
